Paramount Skydance will begin significant workforce reductions beginning on 27 October, cutting approximately 2,000 positions in the United States under a cost-cutting plan worth $2bn led by top executive David Ellison.
These job cuts follow the union between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized during August worth $8.4bn.
Additional international job cuts are likely, as the firm planning to announce complete information via its Q3 financial results on 10 November.
Earlier reports had indicated the company was looking to eliminate between 2,000 and 3,000 positions before the start of November.
As of December 2024, Paramount had about 18,600 full- and part-time employees and 3,500 contract workers.
The organization did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
